Certified Translation of Your German Pension Notice (Rentenbescheid)

The Rentenbescheid is the legally binding award decision from the Deutsche Rentenversicherung. It confirms that you are entitled to a pension, the amount, and from when. The Renteninformation is an annual information letter that does not constitute a legally binding commitment. The Rentenauskunft is more detailed than the Renteninformation but is also informational rather than a binding decision. For most foreign authorities and banks, the Rentenbescheid is the correct document because it proves you are actually receiving a pension.

Some authorities specifically require proof of current income, not just the original award decision. You can request this document through the Deutsche Rentenversicherung online portal, by phone, or in writing.

If they want to see your complete pension calculation and contribution history, you should have the entire document translated, including the Versicherungsverlauf.
