Urgent Certified Translation: What to Do When Your Appointment Is Close
Your appointment at the Ausländerbehörde or registry office is coming up and a translated document is still missing? We do not offer a same-day or express service as standard. If your matter is urgent, please mention it in your request: we will gladly check whether we can find a faster solution.
Why the translation has to be certified
German authorities require translations by a sworn translator (vereidigter Übersetzer). Depending on the federal state, translators are sworn, appointed or authorised by a court. This is called a beglaubigte Übersetzung. A regular translation is usually not accepted.
How to get your translation as quickly as possible
- Send your request early. Upload a clear photo or scan of every page, including the back if it has stamps or notes.
- Tell us your deadline. Write the date of your appointment in the request. We check what is possible and tell you honestly.
- Receive your quote. You usually receive your quote within a few hours, often sooner. It contains your fixed price and your personal delivery time.
- Confirm the order. The translation starts once you accept the quote.
- Ask for a PDF in advance. If you wish, you receive the certified translation as a PDF by email before the paper original arrives by post.
Delivery time
Delivery usually takes 3 to 6 working days; it may vary depending on the language and scope. Your personal delivery time is stated in your quote.
Good to know before your appointment
- Ask the authority in advance whether a PDF is enough for your appointment or whether they need the paper original.
- Many authorities also need the original document or a certified copy. Bring it with you.
- If your appointment is too close, ask the authority whether you can submit the translation later.
Pay after delivery
You receive the invoice with your translation and pay by bank transfer after you have received it. No prepayment is required. If an authority rejects the translation, we correct it free of charge.
